motivate yourself to continuous learning

Have you chosen a field which is of interest for you?

Do you have an idea of what your future work will be?

The interest in the field of your choice will help you overcome the initial obstacles, fear of large quantities of study material or an occasional dislike to study.

If you doubt whether you have chosen the right field, get some advice at a student´s counselling centre as soon as possible.

Do you learn continuously (“step by step”) since the beginning of the semester or you postpone the learning till the time immediately before sitting for a test to obtain a credit or for an examination?

Try to “convince yourself” and make yourself study continuously.

To do so, the following recommendations may be of some use for you:

* try and start with what is interesting for you or what is not so difficult.

* study in an active manner (in the process of learning, formulate questions and try answering them)

* mark new, unexpected facts during learning and compare these with what you have already known about the subject of your study

* if there is something you don´t understand, ask your fellow students or teachers to explain it to you. Try to overcome the deep-rooted feeling that doing so will make you ridiculous. A discussion about unclear issues will bring you a new view of the matter and it will help you solve the problem more quickly than if you were trying to cope with it on your own.
